Session Fees

All sessions are conducted via secure telehealth

  • A 45–60 minute one-on-one session focused on your personal and/or family history, genetic risks, and testing options.

  • A shorter session to review genetic test results, answer follow-up questions, or revisit decisions.

  • This option is recommended if you move forward with genetic testing. It covers both your initial consultation and a dedicated session to review and discuss your results in detail.

Access & Affordability

If cost is a concern, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I offer flexible payment arrangements, and I believe financial barriers should never prevent someone from accessing supportive, personalized care.

FAQs

  • Not at all! Many people see a genetic counselor before pregnancy to better understand their family history, explore carrier screening, or feel more prepared when the time comes. Whether you're planning ahead or currently expecting, you're welcome here.

  • Yes. If you’re receiving care from a private midwife, a birth center, or outside a large clinical system, this is a great way to add personalized genetic support to your care team. If you’re already working with a hospital-based OB, these services may be available through their clinic — but I also offer second-opinion consultations if you're looking for more time, clarity, or support.

  • No referral is needed to schedule a session. However, if your provider would like to send over information or request a formal referral, they’re welcome to do so. I’m happy to coordinate care and share documentation with your team (with your permission).

  • Genetic testing is billed directly by the lab. For common tests like carrier screening or NIPT, out-of-pocket costs typically range from $150 to $500, though the final price can vary depending on the type of test and your insurance coverage. Many labs also offer financial assistance programs to help reduce costs if insurance does not cover testing.

  • I don’t bill insurance directly, but many clients with PPO plans are able to receive partial out-of-network reimbursement. I can provide a superbill with the necessary codes upon request. Be sure to check with your insurance company to ask about coverage for CPT code 96040 (genetic counseling via telehealth).
