How Testing Works
I’ll order the appropriate test through a CLIA-certified lab, ensuring quality and accuracy
Depending on the test, you can have a blood draw at a local lab, schedule at-home phlebotomy, or use a mailed saliva kit
I'll send all materials and instructions directly to you
We’ll review your results together by telehealth, typically within 2–4 weeks

FAQs
-
No. Many people meet with me before pregnancy or while undergoing fertility treatment to review their family history, discuss carrier screening, or explore genetic factors that could affect conception or embryo development. Genetic counseling can be helpful at any stage of family planning.
-
Yes. Many clients see me in addition to their OB or midwife. Genetic counseling complements your existing care by focusing on genetic risks, testing options, and result interpretation, which your provider team can then integrate into your overall pregnancy plan.
-
No referral is needed to schedule a session. However, if your provider would like to send over information or request a formal referral, they’re welcome to do so. I’m happy to coordinate care and share documentation with your team (with your permission).

Genetic testing is billed directly by the lab. For common tests like carrier screening or NIPT, out-of-pocket costs typically range from $150 to $500, though the final price can vary depending on the type of test and your insurance coverage. Many labs also offer financial assistance programs to help reduce costs if insurance does not cover testing.
-
Unfortunately, I am unable to bill insurance directly. I can provide a superbill with the necessary codes upon request.
